Thimbleberries
When ripe, thimbleberries are shallow, thin, brilliant red and somewhat bitter with hundreds of miniature seeds. The plants are typically under two feet tall, and a single thimbleberry plant will have only a few berries. Tryon Creek State Natural Area.
